DELFT BLUE PAINTING
Delft blue, caught on canvas
Delft blue may be the most Dutch subject there is. Sarah paints cups, plates and vases so lifelike you can almost hear the porcelain chime, often with a playful twist.
From the Delft blue and porcelain collection
A Delft blue painting combines Dutch tradition with a modern, realistic hand. The blue and white tones look wonderful in both classic and minimal interiors.
Tradition with a wink
Surprises keep popping up in the porcelain collection: a teacup about to tip over, a windmill stepping out of its plate, a little bird on the rim. The centuries-old blue suddenly becomes playful and contemporary. The Delft blue works are loved as a Dutch gift for emigrants and international relations, and shipping outside the Netherlands can be arranged.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is a Delft blue painting a good gift for abroad?
Yes, it may be the most Dutch gift there is. Sarah arranges shipping outside the Netherlands in consultation.
Does Sarah paint real porcelain?
Yes, often her own or inherited china, set up in the studio. That is how every detail of the blue decoration is right.
Why does the porcelain look so real?
Because of the many thin layers of acrylic that build up the gloss and reflections. Only up close do you see it is paint.
