A realistic painter of stories
Meet Saskia Sloots van Zwol, better known by her artist name Sarah Creek. She grew up in a family that was passionate about art and culture. After working as an activity coordinator in elderly care, she devoted herself fully to her passion as an artist eight years ago.
Behind every painting is a story, born from the urge to make something she has never made before. While painting she deliberately leaves room for spontaneous ideas. Her style is characterised by realistic acrylic paintings, in which she builds a beautiful depth with thin layers.

- Contestant in Stars on canvas 2024, audience favourite
- Painting teacher to 60 students in Meppel

Fourteen collections, one hand
From classic still lifes and Delft blue to portraits, animals and the series The lost human about people living with dementia.

Stars on canvas 2024
On Saturday 21 December 2024, Sarah took on the challenge of painting a portrait of TV presenter Martine van Os on Dutch national television. Three days of filming: meeting and sketching in Hilversum, filming in the studio in Meppel and the unveiling in museum JAN in Amstelveen.
“Martine said she would like an abstract version of herself best. I did not go for that. I am a realistic painter of stories.”
A poll by Omroep Max showed the painting was the viewers' favourite. The work has since been auctioned and raised 950 euros for the charity Edukans.

What clients say
Saskia is a wonderful painter who teaches really well. Going to class is a treat. I have learned a lot and never thought I could paint this beautifully.
I enjoy trying to paint nature photos I have taken myself, under the supervision of Saskia of course. The lessons are very accessible and, in our case, great fun.
Almost two years of lessons at Sarah Creek now and I am nowhere near stopping. The small, friendly groups make the atmosphere relaxed, with plenty of attention for you as a student.
