The story behind this work
The porcelain bowls with pearls and cat skulls were originally part of a study. I teach 60 students and offer them a study twice a season. This scene was an exercise in painting transitions and rendering textures. I added the pearls myself, along with two cat skulls as a symbol for our late cats Jerry and Kareltje.
